Mercedes graduated with a B.A. in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge, and will graduate with an M.F.A from the acclaimed Stephens College TV + Screenwriting Program in 2024.
She has also worked in development for Nickelodeon, Gorilla Flicks, 3-Pas Studios, and American High. A couple of her scripts have placed in renowned festivals like Hollyshorts, Scriptapalooza and LA International. She currently works as a program specialist for the Strasburg International Film Festival in charge of family dramas.
She decided to create the Screenwriting 101 series to make screenwritng accessible to all!
